The CDS ( Combined Defence Service ) is conducted two times in a year by the UPSC  ( Union Public Service Commission ) for a needs in to the Indian Military Academy, the Indian Naval Academy, the Indian Air Force Academy and The Officer Training Academy. UPSC ( Union Public Service Commission) it is the one of the most popular organizations that conducted many examination  and CDS is one of them.

Application Fee

General category and male candidate need to pay Rs. 200. Reserved category candidate and women do not need to pay any application fee.

The form will be filled in two part. In the first half you need to fill the personal details and second half continue with payment procedure.

Examination Marks pattern for CDS

CDS syllabus paper is all objective type by UPSC. All total paper for 300 marks.

CDS English paper Total Marks for 100, the duration is 120 minute it mines (2 hrs.)

General Knowledge paper Total Marks for 100, the duration is 120 minute it mines (2 hrs.)

Elementary Mathematics paper total marks for  100. Duration is 120 minute it mines (2 hrs.)

Officer Training Academy for CDS Entrances exam syllabus all are objective types. All total paper for 100 marks.

CDS English paper Total Marks for 100 duration is 120 minute it mines (2 hrs.).

General Knowledge paper Total Marks for 100, the duration is 120 minute it mines (2 hrs.).

CDS Eligibility For Nationality

  • A candidate must be either be a:-
  • A citizen of India or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 01 January , 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • a Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India.
  • Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (IV) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
  • Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

Education qualification

Indian Military Academy and Officer Training Academy: – the candidate need to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Indian Naval Academy:- the candidate must have done with engineering degree from a recognized university or instituted

Air Force Academy: – the candidate need to have a bachelor’s degree from a  recognized university (physics and chemistry 10 + 2) or btech.

Appearing :-  the candidate who are appearing the final year, they can also apply for CDS examination.

NDA Examination syllabus

NDA examination paper is in the two different sets. There are two written paper for NDA examination, section A and section B. Section A consist for mathematics and section B consist of general ability test. Total marks of both the section are 900.The question paper of the written test will contain objective types of questions.

The NDA written examination consists of two objective type papers

The first paper is for mathematics is for total marks 300. The second one is for general ability test paper for totals marks 600. The general ability test paper is for 600 marks, and there will be total 120 questions.

Set A Mathematic :- the mathematics paper is for 300 marks, and there will be total 120 questions, its multiple choices question and it is based on 11th and 12th class. The mathematics examination duration is 150minutines i.e. 2.5 hrs. Paper

The examination of the mathematic syllabus is divided into the various subjects they are:-

  • Algebra
  • Trigonometry
  • Determination and Matrices
  • Statistics and Probability
  • Vector Algebra
  • Differential calculus
  • Integral calculus and differential equation
  • Analytical Geometry

 

Set B General ability test syllabus are:-  the general ability test is in two sections i.e. Section A and Section B .the section A is for English and section B is for general knowledge. The general ability test paper is for 600 marks, and there will be total 120 questions.

Section A English:- the general ability test paper in English will be design to test the candidate. The section A English test paper is for ( total 200 marks ).

  • Vocabulary
  • Grammar and usage
  • Comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English

Section B general knowledge: – the section B  general knowledge test was ( Total 400 marks ).
